Faith Formation Program and Sacramental Preparation
Foundations of Our Program:
Faith Formation is on-going, from the beginning to the end of life. Parents are the first and foremost religious educators of their children. Therefore, sincere cooperation between parish staff and member families is necessary to bring about the formation of children and youth. It is our expectation that parent(s) / guardian(s) and children/young people attend Mass each Saturday or Sunday. The regular attendance at Religious Education sessions is an important factor in deepening a child’s understanding of God, Who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit and Who is revealed to us in Scripture, prayer, Church teaching and the lived experience of home and community.

Mission Statement:
The mission of Our Lady of Lourdes Faith Formation Program is to assist our young people in learning and living the mysteries of Jesus Christ in Liturgy, Prayer and Sacraments of Initiation.
Programs:
Faith Formation Classes:
Classes are held weekly for children ages 3 through Grade 8 who are not enrolled in a Catholic school.
Sacramental Programs:
Students in grade 2 prepare for the reception of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist.
Students in grade 8 prepare for the reception of Confirmation.
For both of these programs, the Diocese of St. Petersburg requires:
- That the student attend Faith Formation Classes or a Catholic School for one year prior to beginning the preparation for the Sacrament.
- That the student attend a special Sacramental Preparation Program in addition to attending Faith Formation classes or a Catholic School.

The Faith Formation Office is located in the DuBois Center across the main lobby from the Parish Office. Hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
