Through the Sacrament of Baptism we become children of God and joined to the Community of the Church. Baptism is the sacramental bond of unity and the foundation of communion among all Christians. Hence, its dignity and the manner of administering it are matters of importance. The Church’s practice in this matter is governed by two principles: that Baptism is necessary for salvation, and that it can be conferred only once. Parents who wish to have their children infants through age 6 baptized should call Faith formation at (727) 733-0872. Parents will need to attend the Baptism instruction for Parents class, which covers the details of the sacrament and Catholic parenting. Classes are held the 2nd Saturday of the month at 10:00 AM in the DuBois Center Nursery.

Marriage:
Marriage is the Sacrament between a man and women. God’s grace enters into the lives of couples every time they live their promise to be faithful, tender, considerate; to be thoughtful and unselfish; to be willing to compromise and reconcile. Jesus, whose first public miracle was to change water into superb wine at a wedding reception, will always be with the couple providing them with guidance and strength. The Holy Spirit dwells with them and in their home. Arrangements for marriage should be made at least six months in advance to allow adequate time for preparation. A marriage date can be set only after an office appointment with a parish Priest or Deacon. Couples preparing to wed must complete the Pre-Marital Inventory and attend one of the marriage preparation programs recommended by the Diocese. Please call Deacon Tom Shiel at (727) 733-3606 to set an appointment to begin the process. Evenings for the Engaged is offered twice a year at Our Lady of Lourdes. The series runs for six weeks. The dates for the sessions are announced in the parish bulletin.
Anointing of the Sick:
This Sacrament of healing and strength is available for all who are sick, elderly, hospitalized, or homebound.
If you or someone you know would like to receive this Sacrament please call the parish office at (727) 733-3606. You may also receive the Sacrament before admission to the hospital for surgery or tests. This can be taken care of by speaking to the priest following any of the Masses.
